Lack of Poppys

It's been a busy week for me touring around various London locations. As I was traveling around I started to notice the relative lack of people wearing poppys. After a while I started to become a little obsessed and for the last few days I've been staring at people on the streets, tube and in meetings trying to get a figure. On a rough estimate I think the uptake is around no more than 10%.

Surely this figure should be much higher (like 90%), especially at a time when the media devote time to report on our losses in Iraq and Afghanistan? Does anyone not where a poppy? If so I'd be interested to know why.

Quite alot of us are wearing poppies in Sunderland anyway, especially over 30's. For me the biggest problem was finding a place that sells them.

I noticed the same thing. Hardly anyone at my workplace is wearing one and most of them are ex-forces.

I don't have one, but that is through not getting round to it.

Thanks nightowl for mentioning the lack of places to buy a poppy.

Very sad I know but I wanted to count the number of times I could buy a poppy from a journey between Central London and Euston. I managed to find only one place (whsmith Euston) that had them for sale.
