Here is the first map showing the current political configuration of Cannock Chase local council.
I think the markers make it nice and simple to see the overall picture of Cannock Chase, way too much yellow and blue but maybe that will change next year! In particular it highlights the local clusters within a council.
Why for instance are the Liberals so strong in Rugeley? I don't know to be honest, but this type of application quickly and easily highlights where Labour have to concentrate their efforts.
More importantly, it gives the people of Cannock Chase a quick and easy guide to their local council. The markers are clickable and the info boxes provide a fair bit of information.
This is only a beta site at the moment so the pictures need to be resized and I'd like to get postal search and maybe electoral boundaries in the map. These are on the to do list.
